Job Duties

Job Duties
1. Provide instruction in communications to students enrolled in a variety of post-secondary programs.
2. Practice good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
3. Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
4. Utilize LMS for online course delivery.
5. Manage the classroom/lab/activities to ensure an optimal learning environment using an outcome-based approach.
6. Respond to and accommodate the special learning needs of students, including equity groups and diverse learners.
7. Use appropriate evaluation methods, record student progress, and provide feedback.
8. Make necessary curriculum adjustments to course content.
9. Follow academic regulations and policies adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
10. Work cooperatively with program heads and colleagues in an interdependent “team” environment.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications
1. A Master of Communication degree, or Master of Arts (English or Communication major), or equivalent graduate degree.
2. Two years recent/relevant business/industry experience or post-secondary teaching experience.
3. Effective communication skills (written and oral).
4. Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
5. Effective instructional ability.
6. Ability to arrange, maintain, and evaluate resources.
7. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the sue of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
8. Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
9. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
