Job Duties
The Wellness Assistant is responsible for the coordination, planning and administration of comprehensive and diverse wellness services. This position will be accountable to coordinate and liaise with other supporting areas on the implementation, maintenance and promotion of wellness initiatives and programs that support Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s students, faculty and staff. This position is responsible for the coordination of wellness services and will be the first point of contact for wellness related questions and inquiries, for the campus regions served.
The Wellness Assistant is a key resource for the Wellness Steering Committee in the development of the wellness model and associated services provided to front-line users. The ability to present a client-service focus, in a welcoming and wellness-focused environment, while coordinating services to students, faculty and staff is paramount in this position. Communication and marketing of services available will be coordinated using Our Collaborate, via student and staff portals maximizing the functionality and use of SharePoint, preparing marketing materials such as posters and brochures, and orienting others in Wellness initiatives and model going forward (facility users, fitness providers, program areas, student teams/intramural users, etc.). The position will work with other areas across Saskatchewan Polytechnic, including services within Student Services, Human Resources, and with key stakeholders such as the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Students’ Association, and external partners in the provision of health and wellness services.
The work of this position is broad in nature, requiring effective communication, organizational and administrative leadership skills. The ability to think and respond appropriately in ever-changing environment and circumstances is essential. The attributes of project management will be required to manage the priorities and activities in support of the Wellness model across Saskatchewan Polytechnic and to ensure the objectives of the Steering Committee are achieved.

1. Preference will be given to a current Saskatchewan Polytechnic student in good standing.
2. Experience working with health, wellness and fitness programming service providers.
3. Ability to work independently and exercise judgement.
4. Ability to demonstrate high degree of attention to detail.
5. Able to prioritize, manage time and multiple and competing priorities in a highly visible service area
6. Support understanding and experience with providing adaptations for a variety of abilities for use of services/facilities.
7. Effective oral and written communication skills.
8. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
